My fiance and I were lucky enough to be able to snag one of the £10 a night Travelodge rooms last year, and spent a day in York – we went Christmas shopping, we went ice skating and had a nice meal. Ultimately we decided that in order to go to France my fiance would need to take two days off from work rather than just the one, so we have abandoned the idea for this year and will be sticking with somewhere in the UK.
